Inman Connect 2018
How To Build A Brokerage That Supports Teams
July 2018 – Sean Z. Becker spoke on a panel at Inman Connect in San Francisco, CA about how to build a brokerage that supports teams. “Focus on growing your team deeper, not wider”, he said. “Invest in the right people, and work on getting more business, better business, and better clients, not necessarily more brokers. More brokers does not equal more success”.
Inman Connect is a week-long event bringing together more than 4,000 top-producing agents and brokers, CEOs of leading real estate franchises, MLS and association leaders, tech entrepreneurs and marketing executives, to network, make deals and explore the newest technology.

Inman Special Report: Indie Brokerage Strengths and Threats
Infiltrating a Niche Community With Local Expertise
From Inman Special Report: Becker built his steady firm on a high-touch model and strong community ties. A tight inventory in 2016 left Becker feeling like “a shoe salesman with no shoes,” but SZBRE made it work with 43 percent share of the South Waterfront market that year, selling 28 of the 65 closed transactions recorded by the MLS and growing sales volume to $60 million from 2014’s $35 million.
His experience shows that one way to truly master a real estate market is to become ensconced in an area when it’s still brand new.
